Open Question: Moving from Oklahoma City to Santa Monica?
I’m planning on going to Santa Monica college because they’re number one in transfers to a big university, and I can’t do what I want to do living in Oklahoma.
Obviously the cost of living is a huge difference.
I’m working two jobs, and applying for all the grants I can just to take care of myself.
Anyone have some tips for me?
Not planning on moving until July, but best to get started now don’t you think?
Well obviousman,
That’s why I asked the question,
So I can have a plan.
Obviously I live in Oklahoma City, so I don’t have to worry about getting a visa.
That’s what I figured about rent, I’ve been looking online just to see what the rate is, I have a car, no worries there.
The job thing is a problem now, but hopefully I can find something better in the future. I know it’s going to be tough,
and no I don’t want to be an actor or singer. If that was the case I’d start now.

Resolved Question: What breed is more suited for myslef style?
Im looking to get a dog when Im in my own house
but not exactly sure what breed is best for me
I plan to adopt a dog from a shelter but id like a idea of what breed
or type of dog to adopt.
I’ll be in college
and working at the time from 6am-2pm.
when Im working I’ll be home around lunch to let the dog
out,and will have someone let him/her out while at college
or if I’ll be unable to leave work on time.
I do not work weekends.
I do plan to go to the city 1 a month
for acting. The dog will be able to travel with
and stay at a Hotel for some reason if not I have family willing to
watch the dog.
Im looking for a dog that’s loving but not going to destroy things when im gone
grooming, Id like a little as possible.
A watchdog more than a guard dog but
if its a guard dog that’s fine to
I have 1/2 acre of yard for the dog to run
and the option to be in or out when ever
I live in Oklahoma so its very cold and hot
here.
Im willing to put what ever time in for exercise weather its
a little walk or a big jog.
Id like the dog to be okay with people it doesn’t have to be
all jumpy on them but at least not were it would be come scared or aggressive
around them.I own a cat so good with cats is ideal.
what breed is more suited for me?
Thanks

Resolved Question: Career advice. Should I do what I love or what will help me make bank?
I’m currently 18 and on the cusp of deciding what I’d like to do for the rest of my un-retired life. I’d really like a stable career, but none really interest me. I’ve always wanted to be a filmmaker, since childhood, but have long given up that dream (or at least, faced the realities about said dream.) It’s a fickle industry, especially where I am from, and doesn’t seem likely to give me a secure, comfortable monthly income unless I go to work for some network, etc. And film schools are freaking EXPENSIVE. Being 18, I have literally no money or means to afford such a school. (No college fund either.)
On the other hand, there’s a job that I seem capable of. Air Traffic Controlling. My father worked for the FAA for nearly 35 years and it always provided us with a modest living. He now teaches it at a university in Oklahoma City. I must admit that I’m not exactly very interested in this sort of work, but it’s a job and not everyone has the luxury of absolutely enjoying their chosen career paths.
So here’s the conundrum. Do I try my hand at some expensive film or other creative arts school and try to work my way into film or television production (something that I know from secondhand experience isn’t that easy or reliable to do) or do I try for a local college I can afford and eventually school with my father to learn air traffic controlling, a career I wouldn’t necessarily mind, and have a steady, dependable income that I can use to support myself and my hobbies in filmmaking and music?
I’ve racked my mind about this over and over again. I’ve considered nearly every career I know of, and it always seems to come back down to these two.
What should I do? Or, rather, what would YOU do?
Thanks in advance.
