James reminds me of the story of the tortoise and the rabbit because he keeps at the race with enthusiasm, dedication and love. He is steadily winning the race to become an actor. James is also in financial need of the money that this scholarship will provide for him. James’ father died a few years ago and his mother is presently battling cancer. These critical life issues would be daunting for any of us. Participation in the play and in acting class help to keep James focused.
